IE 188MM Crank Pulley & Damper Upgrade Kit Audi S4, S5 B8, SQ5 8R, A6 C7
The IE HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) Upgrade is the missing link to provide enough fuel for dual pulley setups attempting big power on higher octane fuels. The 11.67mm piston is the largest sized diameter possible within the fuel-pump body and offers 3% more flow than any competition on the market. Every assembly is hand measured to incredibly strict tolerances and assembled into a brand new OE pump body in a clean filtered environment for extreme reliability. Put the worry of fuel pressure issues behind you on your Audi supercharged 3.0T engine with IE's Performance HPFP upgrade.

INCREASED DISPLACEMENT
Your HPFP provides extremely high fuel pressure (exceeding 1500psi) to the direct injection system on your Audi 3.0T supercharged engine. Fuel output and ultimately power is limited by the internal displacement of the pump. By increasing the bore and piston size of the pump internals, the HPFP upgrade is capable of producing much more flow. This higher-output HPFP design offers the fuel increase needed for those running Stage 2 Dual Pulley setups and looking to run higher octane fuels for aggressive race and track style driving.

PRECISION ASSEMBLY
The internal assembly of your HPFP is a delicate balance of astonishingly high pressure and extremely delicate tolerances. Every piston and cylinder is a match set CNC machined to exacting sizes. Tolerances between the two are hand-tested using precise measurement gauge tools and verified down to 0.46055"! These tolerances are required due to the maximized size of our pump assembly and absolutely critical for HPFP reliability and function. Even the smallest contamination can cause pump wear or failure, to ensure this each pump is assembled in a clean environment with a Laminar flow hood. This is why IE only sells HPFP pumps fully assembled in new OE housings as to ensure reliability.

DLC Diamond-Like Carbon coating is applied to the piston alloy to provide a unique combination of hardness and low friction. The excellent wear properties and self lubrication behavior drastically extends piston life.
PISTON & CYLINDER ENGINEERING
The piston & cylinder engineered for HPFP upgrade is a constant diameter design; meaning it maintains the outer size through the entire piston shaft. This ensures no displacement change occurs on the bottom side of the piston and protects against pressurized pulses against the shaft seal. After testing many pump designs, IE engineers determined this feature necessary for long reliable pump operation. Be wary of pump designs with a stepped diameter engineered to use the factory seal as a cost saving design. We have found these units reduce the contact between the pin and cylinder by over 50% which greatly increases wear, pin leakage, and instability of the pin stroke.

LEAK-FREE SEAL
To prevent fuel leaking past the HPFP seal and into the crankcase, our HPFP upgrade includes a molybdenum disulphide seal used for it's stiffness and reduced friction characteristics. To further reduce the chance of failure, the seal is spring energized to provide constant outward pressure, even as the seal ages. What may seem like a small feature -in reality provides a reliable and long-life HPFP upgrade.

*2016-2018 A6 & A7 CREC 3.0T engines do not have compatible IE software support for 207mm lower crank pulley. IE single pulley CREC tunes safely produce typical dual pulley ratio numbers on this platform. Running 207mm or dual pulley ratio setups may cause supercharger clutch failure on CREC engines and is not recommended. CREC engine is also found in ROW (rest-of-world) markets on some late-model S4 & S5 3.0T as well. CREC engines are easily identified as the supercharger pulley has 4 bolts to attach it to the supercharger instead of a press-fit style.
